2009 OHL Priority Selection to be Held this Saturday

The 2009 OHL Priority Selection will be held this Saturday, May 2nd.  The annual event allows draft eligible players from across the province and parts of the United States to be selected by OHL teams in a 15 round priority selection. 

 The Belleville Bulls will be picking 18th overall in the first round of draft.  Last season, the Bulls used their first round pick to select Stephen Silas before grabbing current players Scott Howe, Cody Alcock, and Dylan Goddard in later rounds.  Other former first round picks include Shawn Lalonde and Bryan Cameron along with former stars Justin Papineau, Daniel Cleary, Jonathan Cheechoo, and Dan Quinn.  This past season, Belleville’s roster included 18 players that they had selected in OHL Priority Selection from 2004 through 2008.       

 The draft will begin at 9:00am on Saturday and fans wishing to follow the process can do so at bellevillebulls.com and at ontariohockeyleague.com which will feature a live webcast for the first three rounds.
