BELLEVILLE, ON - Three Bulls will have their physical abilities pushed to the limit beginning on May 28th as the National Hockey League holds it's annual Draft Combine to evaluate eligible prospects leading up to the big day.
The combine, which is held in Toronto from May 28th until June 2nd, will include 105 players and 61 representatives from the Canadian Hockey League.
Bulls goaltender Malcolm Subban leads the list of draft eligible goaltenders heading into the draft at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on June 22nd. Subban is joined at the combine by fellow Bulls teammates Brendan Gaunce and Danill Zharkov who are highly touted forwards heading into the selections.
In addition to fitness testing and physical evaluations, players will engage in a series of interviews with interested NHL clubs.
Winger Daniil Zharkov has returned to Belleville following his participation in the World Under 18 Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic. Zharkov will be training for the next month in preparation for the combine and will have the expertise and guidance of Assistant Coach Jason Supryka to assist him in his workouts.
Gaunce was in Belleville briefly last weekend to meet with Bulls prospects following their Spring Orientation Camp at the Quinte Sports and Entertainment Centre. Gaunce is getting down to the nitty gritty to prepare for the physical push as well.
