The Bulls return to the ice Tuesday afternoon for their first practice of the second half. After skating to a 20-13-0-0 record through the first 33 games of the OHL season, the brahmas look to continue their steady pace into a tough northern road trip that features games in Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday and Sudbury on Friday.
The club heads north with several members of the organization off representing the province at the World Under 17 Championships in Windsor while Head Coach and General Manager George Burnett will continue his duties as Assistant Coach of the Canadian World Junior Team in Alberta.
Serving Team Ontario through the next week are Bulls Assistant General Manager Barclay Branch who is the Director of Operations for this season's Under 17 squad.
Equipment Manager Matt Sands returns to the Under 17 Championship for his second tour of duty after winning gold last season in Winnipeg alongside Bulls Assistant Coach Jake Grimes.
Bulls' 16 year-old defenceman Jordan Subban is also a member of Team Ontario this season. The fourth overall pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection is one of seven defenceman on the team and collected 13 points through his first 31 OHL contests.
Belleville second round selection Mack Lemmon was named as an alternate for the Ontario squad but is currently sidelined day-to-day with a shoulder injury he suffered on December 9th.
Having recently won his 500th career OHL contest, George Burnett is back for his second season with the Canadian World Junior Team. Off to a red hot start, the Canadians beat Finland 8-1 on Monday night to kickoff the tournament. They're back in action on Wednesday against the Czech Republic.
Assistant Coaches Jake Grimes and Jason Supryka will be at the helm through Wednesday, January 4th while Subban won't return to the lineup until at least Friday, January 6th when the Bulls travel to Ottawa.
Subban and Team Ontario begin their tournament on Thursday, December 29th against Team Germany at the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
