Pasquale Backstops Team Ontario to Gold Medal Game at the Canada Winter Games
Belleville Bulls goaltender Edward Pasquale made 20 saves to help lead Team Ontario to a 4-3 overtime victory over Team British Columbia in a semi-final game Wednesday at the 2007 Canada Winter Games being held in Whitehorse, Yukon. Pasquale also earned an assist in the victory. Team Ontario will now play Team Manitoba in the Gold Medal Game on Friday. Ontario previously defeated Manitoba 5-2 during the preliminary round of the tournament.
Pasquale has been splitting the duties in net with Chris Carrozzi of the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors in the tournament. Carrozzi earned the shutout in a 6-0 quarterfinal victory over Nova Scotia on Tuesday. Team Ontario is now 4-0 in the tournament outscoring their opponents 26 to 8.
Friday’s gold medal game can be seen on TSN beginning at 10:30pm EST with a replay of the game being shown Saturday afternoon on CBC.
