Pasquale to Participate in Hockey Canada Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp
 |
Belleville Bulls goaltender Edward Pasquale was one of thirteen players invited to participate in Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp. Seven candidates for Canada’s World Junior Team and six candidates, including Pasquale for Canada’s Under 18 Team will participate in both on and off-ice sessions at the camp being held June 7-10 in Calgary, Alberta. |
During the four day camp, the goaltenders will have the opportunity to work with Cory Hirsch, Hockey Canada’s Goaltending Consultant. Other guest instructors at the camp will include Bill Ranford (goaltending coach, Los Angeles Kings, NHL), Tyler Love (World Pro Goaltending), Sudarshan Maharaj (former New York Islanders goaltending coach), Sean Burke (Los Angeles Kings, NHL), Kim Dillabaugh (goaltender coach for AHL’s Manchester Monarchs) and Frédéric Chabot (goaltending coach, Austrian National Team). Nashville Predators goaltender Chris Mason will also be participating at the camp, and invitations are out to other younger Canadian NHL goaltenders.
All 13 goaltenders were selected by Hockey Canada based on evaluations done by Hirsch and Head Scout Jim Hammett during the 2006-07 season and in consultation with coaches, general managers and team officials throughout the CHL and NHL.
Pasquale joined the Bulls in December after spending the first half of the season with the Wellington Dukes and enjoyed an exceptional rookie campaign in Belleville. In seven games with the Bulls, Pasquale compiled a 4-1-0-0 record along with a 3.10 GAA and .917 SVG. He also won a Gold Medal with Team Ontario at the Canada Winter Games in March in which he finished the tournament with a 3-0 record. The native of Toronto was the Bulls third round selection in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection.
