Mike Murphy Named OHL Goaltender of the Month

Belleville Bulls netminder Mike Murphy has been named OHL Goaltender of the Month for March. It is the second time this season that Murphy has been named the league’s top goaltender in a month.

 

Murphy had an outstanding month of March for the Bulls, finishing the regular season with five consecutive victories before helping Belleville defeat the Peterborough Petes in five games in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. In ten games, the Inverary, Ontario native posted a 9-1 record while holding a 2.02 goals against average and .928 save percentage along with one shutout.

 

Murphy enjoyed a terrific regular season with Belleville, posting a 36-7-3-1 record along with league best 2.24 GAA and .929 SV%. He set Bulls team records for most wins along with best GAA and SV% in a season. In the playoffs, Murphy has recorded a 7-1 record along with a 1.93 GAA and .936 SV%.
