Bulls Drop Final Exhibition Game 8-2 to Oshawa
Luke Judson recorded a goal and an assist in the Belleville Bulls 8-2 loss to the Oshawa Generals Saturday night in Uxbridge.
The Belleville Bulls wrapped up their pre-season schedule with an 8-2 loss to the Oshawa Generals Saturday night in Uxbridge. The Bulls dressed just 14 skaters and were unable to handle a Generals attack led by John Tavares who recorded two goals and four points in the victory.
Tavares opened the scoring early in the first period for what turned out to be the only goal of the opening frame. Luke Judson was able to tie the score just over one minute into the second period on a rebound but the Generals responded with three consecutive goals to take a 4-1 lead heading to the final period of play. Stephen Blunden assisted on Judson’s goal.
Cory Tanaka cut the lead to 4-2 a minute and a half into the third period on a goal assisted by Judson. Oshawa again responded, scoring the final four goals of the game, including three in a span of 51 seconds to skate away with the 8-2 victory.
Rookies Philipp Grubauer and Kevin Bailie played goal for Belleville and Oshawa respectively. The loss drops the Bulls pre-season record to 3-2 while the Generals improve to 2-3 with the win. The Bulls will return to the Yardmen Arena next Saturday to open their 2008-2009 regular season against the Peterborough Petes. Game time is 7:15pm but fans are asked to be in their seats by 7:00pm for special pre-game festivities. Tickets for Saturday’s opener are available at the Bulls Box Office.
